Comments:
I knew I'd gat a vote for DiAnno from Hazmat, and I concur.
I'll wait for a few more votes before I wiegh in with the why's and what for's.

Can't and won't vote for one over the other. Paul's body of work is is more consistant, but his time with the band was brief relative to the entire discography.
Bruce made two very good ones before the band jumped the shark. # of the Beast, and Piece of Mind are great records.
I have the same feelings re: the Ozzy/Dio Black Sabbath's.
I'd love to hear the Sponge Bob IM if you've got it available.

Sorry forthe double post...
Did you guys check the comments on the post that included the SpongeBob IM album cover? Hysterical...
BTW Jackson, did you get the stuff I sent you? Did you give the Legal Diva her drum stool?

Okay so far we have two votes for DiAnno, one vote for Spnge Bob, and some lame ass non-commital bullshit from T.A. - disapointing Tony....
I really hope we get this worked out - I would hate to spend the rest of the day not knowing who the better Iron Maiden vocalist is.
Blogs really are the future. I can see why traditional media is so scared.

I know it sounds non-committal and wafflie, but I really like the first four records a lot. I see them as a Yes like "Tales From Topographical Oceans" four album set with two singers really. They all seem like they came out at the same time in my life and were always on the turntable. You know the cast of characters that I hung out with and know that we'd argue about the dumbest insignificant shit, but I really cannot recall anybody choosing one over the other in this debate. A rare moment of maturity amongst some EXTREMELY diehard IM fans.
Like I said, the same thing can be said for the Black Sabbath front man debate, although their was definitely some polarization in my circle of friends and band mates when it came to this. The Dio albums I thoroughly enjoyed and still do, and you know how I feel about Ozzy, but choosing one over the other I can’t really do.
I can say with certainty that the first three Aerosmith albums are better than “Toys In The Attic” even though Toys is a phenomenal record in it’s own right, but for reasons I cannot identify, can't be so sure about the above mentioned debate. It’s not about blind devotion either. I just like them both a lot.

'Toys In The Attic' is the third Aerosmith record, and the best.
You are the weakest link - off the island with you.....
And where's Cavalier?
It's funny because when I was thinking of a follow up to this post I considered the Sabbath question, but I feel exactly like you about that issue. I look at the Dio Sabbath as a different band that happens to have the same name and most of the same players. It's safe to say that those two Dio Sabbath records are far superior to the two Sabbath records that preceeded them (Technical Ecsatcy, Never Say Die).
I have also considered the AC/DC question, but in recent years my position on Brain Johnson has mellowed considerably. No one, not even Brian, thinks AC/DC is better without Bon Scott, so there's really no debate. Brian is a swell guy, and he's done a good job filling impossible boots.
Hmmmm....Pete Willis vs. Phil Collen?
